Our community is ravaged year after year by the direct impact of the climate crisis &amp; environmental social injustice. By dreaming and working with local organizations&nbsp; and youth we host a series of workshops teaching residents how to build 3D models that explore their personal histories, dreams, and ecological relationships to the Rockaways. The series of workshops culminate in a free AR 360 video experience and augmented visual walkway that invites folks to listen and interact with the future seascape community via smartphones. This human fungal biocircuit looks at interspecies communication and collaboration to reframe how we humanoids center ourselves. By understanding our interdependent ecologies through sensorial inputs, community and heuristic experiences we hope to transform how we relate, empathize and in turn behave and relate in our day to day lives. At the end of the performative installation, we cut and cooked the various oyster mushrooms merging and benefiting from our fungal allies. Our&nbsp; Augmented Reality book (in-progress) Mycellial Mindfulness looks at how we can benefit from implementing the intelligence of mycellial networks to rethink how human and AI networks are structured, utiliized and designed for mutualistic eco-centered futures and wellness. We invite audiences to send loving energy to the algae growing within the sculpture. For years, science has revealed the power of caring intention and its incredible impact on plant life. These findings and those demonstrated in Cleve Backster’s studies on plant consciousness, led to the realization that plants register stress and sensed thoughts of harm. Our sculpture asks viewers to rethink and expand their relationship to plant life and consider the work plants do for us and their need for our love and respect toward them. The last image is a workshop that sonifies lichen and invites audiences to collaborate and co-create a DJ set with lichen from Fort Tilden. This work was collectively created with the Rockaway community and consisted of beach cleanups and workshops. Bottles littering the beaches and streets compose the amorphous sculptures that activates as people walk beneath it. Using a combination of interviews with local residents, ecologists, water enthusiasts(swimmers, surfers, sailors, kayakers), scientists, business owners, people with housing insecurity, activists, immigrants and conservationists, we form a poetic and historical narrative that imagines what life will be like in a future where the water levels rise.Will we live in submerged communities? Will we evolutionarily adapt? Will our relationships change with the species in our environment? How will our habits transform? How will eat,love and live? Can Capitalism exist under water? Together with community members we weave together this speculative fiction to dream possibilities of life beneath the sea.
